"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volume 12" edited by B.H.Wood. Bound in publisher's brown hardback. All twelve magazines for Volume 12 (Oct 1946 - Sept 1947. Magazine Numbers 133 to 144, inclusive). 366pp. Includes index. Betts 7-91. The volume is in Good condition for its age. The binding is good and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are clean (a small area of damage to note on the top edge, see scan). The gilt lettering on the spine is still bright. There is a very small piece missing from the first page of the Index (see scan). The quality of paper available so soon after WW2 means that all the internal pages have tanned considerably and have a fragile feel to them. Tanning is also seen on the endpapers and page edge blocks. The volume is free of foxing and the internal pages are all clean and inscription free. They do NOT have the often seen vertical crease from having been in the post back in the day. Magazine covers are not bound in. Mild musty odour. Superficial damage to board tips. Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
