Telc 1976 (chess tournament)
postcard signed by ca 20 participants
among them master Frantisek Pithart
Black and white postcard of town Telc with ca 20 signatures of participants of the chess tournament called „Zlata vez ZN“.
Postally used, cancellation 25. 2. (19)76. In Czech. The weight 10 grams.
Very good: light signs of use, no flaws.
Most of the participants are regional players. Also signed here is master Frantisek Pithart - on the left on the second row from the bottom.
Zlata vez Zemedelskych novin (Golden Rook of paper Zemedelske noviny) was traditional tournament organized in Czechoslovakia in 1960s-1980s.
The card is sent by Ladislav Faifr to certain Frantisek Faistl. By the way, Faifr was the winner of this tournament in 1969, 1970 and 1974.
Biographical data:
Frantisek Pithart (1915-2003), Czech master (since 1951) and noted trainer. One of the best Czech players after wws. He participated many times in the finals of Czechoslovak championships. He took part in the chess olympiad Helsinki 1952 and in European team chamionship 1957. Author of many books and articles.
