DESCRIPTION

Handwritten version of Frantisek Josef Prokop's book 100 samomatu (100 selfmates) published in 1940. Everything is the same as in the book itself, title page and 100 diagrams with self-mates, the place and date of first publication and solutions. Only the foreword is missing.

This manuscript is possibly the basis for the printing. I am not sure if this is the handwriting directly from F. J. Prokop (his handwriting looks a bit different) or from someone else. On the back side of each sheet is a Manheim insurance form in German, which would indicate that the manuscript was created during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia (1939-1945).

Condition - Good: the sheets are stored in a simple archival binder, the clasp is rusty, paper is yellowed and with two archive holes, diagrams are created using chess rubber stamps.
