Three Sicilian Defence opening books: 1. "The Sicilian Pelikan" by Evgenny Sveshnikov. Published in softback by Batsford in 1989. First Edition. 280pp. The book is in Very Good condition for its age. The covers are clean and bright. The page edge blocks are tanned from age. Internally the book is very clean and unmarked although the pages are age-tanned. It is inscription, annotation and foxing free. I have refrained from taking any pictures of this book's interior as it is obvious that this volume has been very well cared for over the years and I do not want to bend the spine back. Games and positions are given in figurine algebraic notation. 2. "The Sicilian Scheveningen" by Gary [sic] Kasparov and Aleksander Nikitin. Published in softback by Batsford in 1992. Reprint. 236pp. This book is also in Good condition for its age. The covers are clean and bright. The page edge blocks are lightly age-tanned. Internally the book is clean and presentable but there is light evidence of handling and a dried liquid stain to the inside of the front cover and the residue of a price sticker on the rear cover (see scans). It is inscription, annotation and foxing free. I have, again, refrained from taking any pictures of this book's interior as it is obvious that this volume has been cared for over the years and I do not want to bend the spine back. Games and positions are given in figurine algebraic notation. 3. "The Sicilian Taimanov" by Mark Taimanov. Published in softback by Batsford in 1989. First Edition. 90pp. This book is in Very Good condition for its age. The covers are clean and bright. The page edge blocks are age-tanned. Internally the book is in very clean and unmarked condition. It is inscription, annotation and foxing free although the quality of paper used in publication was not the best and the pages have tanned somewhat. I have, again, refrained from taking any pictures of this book's interior as it is obvious that this volume has been very well cared for over the years and I do not want to bend the spine back. Games and positions are given in figurine algebraic notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
