16th Czech chess championship
Tournament book by Karel Opocensky
LN 5618
Opocensky, Karel, and others: Rakovnik - kniha sachova. Praha, Vaclav Petr, 1941. Orig. softcover. 272 pages + 16 unnumbered pages with 22 photos. Size 22.5 cm. 350 grams. Soukup 75. LN 5618. Mokry 135. In Czech.
About Good: pages frayed at margins. This was caused by cutting the pages of the book (the book was originally sold uncut). Spine a little worn at the top and bottom. Some leaves are loose from the book-block - it is not a flaw, this is a way, how the book was published. Text is clean with no writings.
First part of the book contains 16 articles of various authors about town Rakovnik - the articles contain no chess with one exception, the article on pages 92-95, which is devoted to the history of chess in town. Second part of the book is the tournament book.
All 66 games of the Master tournament are present and annotated - 1. Foltys 9/11, 2. Opocensky, 3. Olexa. The book also includes 14 games of the Main tournament (1. Thelen), round summaries, etc.
Note: sending to the UK is now somewhat problematic. If you are from the UK and want to bid, please email me first.
