"Chess: An Annotated Bibliography (1850-1968)" compiled by Douglas Betts. Published in hardback by G.K. Hall in 1974. First Edition. 659 large pages. The book is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. The page edge blocks are clean. Internally the book is very clean and has clearly been very well cared for over the years. It is inscription and foxing free. The book does have some depredations, namely: 1. Superficial damage to the rear board where the outer layer has been worn away (see first scan). 2. A short red pen line on page iii. 3. Several highlighted entries in the index section. Some of these entries have a pencilled letter 'P' beside them while a very few have a penned letter and number. See scans. Included with the book is a colour photo-copy of an article on Douglas Betts from the March 2006 edition of "CHESS" magazine. Published without a dustjacket.
