Forsøg til almindelige og særdeles Grundregler for Konge- eller Skakspillet. 112 pages, Copenhagen 1774. Printet by August Friedrich Stein.
This book is most likely a translation from the German book published by Gustav Selenus, Leipzig 1616. For many years this book has been ascribed to Thomas Nickel Bruun, and thus called "Bruun's bog" although it was published anonymously.
In this copy however, there is an inscription which reads:
This book, which was written by my grandfather, chamberlain and major of the cavalry Christian Rosenørn-Teilmann, shall, together with a vignette, engraved in a ----iol, framed in gold, which belonged to my grandfather and after him my father, always remain as an -id souvenir for the eldest (not in age) of the aforementioned male descendants of my grandfather. (translation by LSAK)
Condition: VG for its age.
