Description

"The Anglo-Soviet Radio Chess Match (1945)" by E. Klein and W. Winter. Published in hardback by Isaac Pitman in 1947. 119pp. Betts 26-5. The book is in Very Good condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are clean. The page edge blocks are heavily tanned from age. Internally the book is in very good condition with clean and unmarked pages. The book appears to be inscription and annotation free. The paper quality available so soon after WW2 was poor but the publishers must have searched around as the paper quality in this book is remarkably good for that era, being semi-glossy to the touch. The pages have age-tanning to note but not as bad as in some publications around this period. The dustjacket is in Good condition. It has very small areas of loss at the head and tail of the spine plus an area on the rear cover (see scans). In addition, the dustjacket has rubbing and light creasing, commensurate with age plus a shop sticker on the front flap. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Condition Rating: Book: 7.5/10. Dustjacket: 6.5/10. Any questions, please just ask.
