Description

"The World Championship Candidates Tournament, 1953" edited by B.H. Wood. Published in blue hardback by 'CHESS, Sutton Coldfield' in 1954. 329pp. Betts 25-222. The volume is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight. There is no bowing present to the boards but there is a mild shelf lean with resultant spine cocking. The boards are clean although there is a stain mark on the rear one (see scan). The gilt lettering on the spine has faded but is still readable. The page edge blocks are tanned from age and handling. Internally the volume has a previous owner's signature on the front endpaper plus a couple of other entries in the margins and a few "dog eared" pages. The vast majority of the internal pages are very clean and unmarked. The internal pages are of very good quality, being semi-glossy to the touch. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Condition Rating: 7/10. Any questions, please just ask.

PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOW BASED IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND AND, THEREFORE, ALL SALES TO EUROPEAN DESTINATIONS (APART FROM GB) WILL BE IN EUROS AND SHIPPED DIRECT EU - EU (VIA 'AN POST', THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND POSTAL SERVICE, THEREBY AVOIDING ANY 'BREXIT' POSTAL TAXES). CUSTOMERS IN THE GB AREA CAN STILL AVAIL OF SHIPPING DIRECT GB - GB AS I CAN SHIP (VIA 'ROYAL MAIL') FROM NORTHERN IRELAND, ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT DELAY IN POSTING. CUSTOMERS IN THE USA AND THE RoW WILL HAVE THEIR ORDER SHIPPED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (VIA 'AN POST', AS ABOVE).
