Description

Andrej Ancin (1909-1976)

Hungarian-Slovak problem composer

Typed letter written in Slovak, signed in pen

most probably to Bedrich Formanek

dated Komarno, March 26, 1954

Good to very good: light signs of use, horizontal center fold.

1 sheet size 30 x 21 cm

The letter begins "Mily priatelu!” (= Dear Friend).

The addressee of this letter was Slovak chess composer Bedrich Formanek. Formanek's name is not mentioned directly here, but it is clear from the context, as the author writes several times about the chess column in the newspaper Praca (..your chess column in Praca..), where Formanek was editor from 1952 to 1956.

Ancin sends one original problem for the column in Praca, one additional problem, and three problems by other authors on the Schor theme for illustration.
