Good to very good: light signs of use, 2x center fold.
1 sheet size 30 x 21 cm
The letter begins "Mily Bedrichu” (= Dear Bedrich).
Vesely writes about publishing of chess books and possible meeting.
The letter is signed as „Inna“ (Inna Vesela, 1933-1976, Czechoslovak women champion in 1959, wife of Jiri Vesely) and „Jiri“. However, it looks like both signatures were made in Vesely’s hand.
Biographical data:
Jiri Vesely (1932-2009), Czech master, member of Czechoslovak team, which won the first World Student championship in Oslo 1954 - Vesely scored 5,5 points of 7 games. Noted chess writer, journalist, author of several books, some of which became bestsellers. Germanist, Professor of the Charles University in Prague.
Bedrich Formanek (1933-2023), Slovak chess problem composer, author of many hundreds of problems. He wrote more than 10 books and edited more than 7,000 chess columns in various newspapers. President of the Permanent Commission of the FIDE for Chess Compositions (PCCC) in 1994-2002.
