"Meet the Masters" by Dr. Max Euwe. Published in hardback by Isaac Pitman in 1940. First UK Edition. 279pp + 8pp. Betts: 28-10. The book is in Very Good condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The page edge blocks are tanned from age (the top edge darkened, as usual). The gilt lettering on the spine has faded but is still readable. The boards are very clean. Internally the book is in very good condition, clean and unmarked. The internal pages have tanned a little from age but are all very clean. The book is inscription, annotation and foxing free. The - scarce - dustjacket is in Good Minus condition. It has several depredations, as follows: 1. Very strong discolouration along the spine. 2. Small areas of loss to the head and tail of the spine.  3. A small puncture hole on the rear panel and another on the front panel. 4. An area of loss to the top of the front panel. 5. Tiny chips and tears. 6. Age-tanning throughout. See scans.
