Alberth Neess opened the "Skakhuset" store in the centre of Copenhagen on August 16,1947. From a humble start, right after the Second World War, the shop grows and becomes a major centre in the Danish chess life. In the period 1963 to 1973, Skakhuset published a small magazine containing descriptions and prices of the products that were for sale.
