The 1889 New York Chess Tournament, also known as the Sixth American Chess Congress, was a significant event in the history of chess. It was a 20-player double round-robin tournament. This format made it one of the longest tournaments in chess history.

The tournament was held from March 17 to April 28, 1889, and it was won by Mikhail Chigorin of Russia and Max Weiss of Austria, both finishing with a score of 29 points.

Condition: From David DeLucia's Chess Library. Horisontal fold with tears. A very rare and historical item.
