Description

Four-page hand-written game, annotations by Salo Flohr, vs Dr. Tartakower. 11th round, Bled, 1931.

The 1931 Bled International Chess Tournament, held in Bled, Yugoslavia, was one of the strongest tournaments of the pre-war era. The reigning world champion Alexander Alekhine dominated the event, winning convincingly with 20½ points out of 26 games—far ahead of the rest of the field. Alekhine’s performance at Bled is often regarded as one of the finest tournament victories in chess history, showcasing his deep positional understanding and sharp tactical skill at his peak.
