Handwritten signed postcard, written in Russian in pen

to Slovak composer Bedrich Formanek

dated Varna, November 17, 1968

 

Good+: light/some crease to corners, light signs of use.

1 sheet size 14 x 10 cm

The card begins "Dorogoy Bedrich” (= Dear Bedrich).

Signed as “Nikolai”, dated Varna 17. XI. (19)68.

Dimitrov thanks for an issue of “Sachovy bulletin”.

Biographical data:

Nikolai Dimitrov (1929-2014), Bulgarian chess problem and study composer, author of more than 1,000 compositins, mostly 2-movers, 3-movers, also studies.

Bedrich Formanek (1933-2023), Slovak chess problem composer, author of many hundreds of problems. He wrote more than 10 books and edited more than 7,000 chess columns in various newspapers. President of the Permanent Commission of the FIDE for Chess Compositions (PCCC) in 1994-2002.
