Description

Jan Hlineny: Vecery na vsi

Praha 1939

(Czech Christmas Series no.4)

50 numbered copies, this is number 4

With Soukup’s Christmas greeting card (unsigned)

Hlineny, Jan: Vecery na vsi (with a loosely inserted Christmas card).

Praha, Miroslav Soukup, 1939. Orig. cloth. Portrait (photo of Jan Hlineny), title, (4), 60, (4) pages + free inserted Christmas card. 110 grams. Series Sachove umeni (called also Czech Christmas Series) no. 4. Limited edition of 50 numbered copies, of which some are hardcovers and some are softcovers. This is one of hardcover copies, with an attractive number 4 of 50. Size 14.5 x 10.3 cm (the card ca 11.5 x 8.7 cm). In Czech. LN 2819, Soukup 43, Mokry 80.

Very good plus / dust jacket not issued: spine slightly faded, negligible small brown spot on the rear cover. No flaws - binding is tight, edges and corners are sharp, internally clean and unmarked. The greeting card has a little crease at the corner.

60 three-movers of Jan Hlineny, 1868-1941.

From the total of 50 copies, some were bound in cloth and some were softcovers. The title means in English: Evenings in a Village.

This book is one of the rarest in the series.

The text on the Christmas card means in English: Merry Christmas / and a Happy New Year 1940 / wishes you / Miroslav Soukup.

Christmas greeting cards by Miroslav Soukup, whether signed or unsigned, appear only rarely.
