London, 1881/82. Contemporary half-leather, spine lettered. IV (=title, index) + 384 pages. Size ca 23.5 cm. The weight 870 grams. LN 6138, Betts 7-25. In English. Code 11533.
Fair to good: binding rubbed. The stamp of the previous owner (chess composer and collector Ilja Mikan) is whitened on the inner cover. Title page somewhat stained/soiled. Pages occasionally a little stained, sporadically small pencil or crayon marks. Edges somewhat dusty.
Complete volume 3, numbers 1-12, including title/index. No plates were published in this volume. Covers are not bound in.
The Chess Monthly was published in London between 1879 and 1896 by Leopold Hoffer, together with J. H. Zukertort until 1888.
