The magazine Besedy lidu (Czech popular periodical, it means something like People’s Conversations) was published fortnightly, except in 1901 and 1902 when it was published weekly. The chess column did not appear in volume IV (1896) and volume V (1897), but otherwise appeared regularly in every issue, with a few exceptions. 

This set contains all 27 volumes in which the column appeared.

In one volume, there are usually 26 columns (in 1901 and 1902, there are 52 columns).

The set contains cca with cca 750 problems, 630 games and news.
