The official selection of the world's best chess compositions of the period 2019-2021 contains 1840 compositions from ca 300 authors, sorted into 8 sections: Two-movers, Three-movers, Moremovers, Endgame studies, Helpmates, Selfmates, Fairies, Retros. The number of problems in each category can be found in the second picture.

Each composition includes a diagram, place and date of the first publication and an annotated solution. The book is accompanied by many various statistics, indexes of authors and sources, definitions of terms and themes etc.

Starting from 2013 (period 2004-2006), FIDE Albums are published and edited by the well-known Slovak composer Peter Gvozdjak.
