Massow Memorial
This correspondence tournament (1996-2001), which is certainly not surpassed in quality with 8 world champions among the 15 participating grandmasters, naturally deserves a good tournament book. The authors offer more. All 105 games are commented on in detail by the players, and some stories on the sidelines make the correspondence chess scene extremely likeable. Hans-Werner von Massow should be remembered. The Dresden native who died in 1988 and lived in Hamburg after 1945 was the president of the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) and managing director of the Association of German Correspondence Chess Friends (BdF) for many years. He led correspondence chess to a great popularity that it still thrives on today.
