The postcard is signed as “Vlasta”

Biographical data:

Vlastimil Hort (1944-2025), one of the strongest Czechoslovak grandmasters after WWS, since 1985 lived in Germany. In 1970s one of the best players in the world. World championship candidate in 1977. Multiple Czechoslovak champion, champion of (West) Germany in 1987. Hort took part in chess olympiad since 1960, more than 10x for Czechoslovakia and later for Germany.

Frantisek Pithart (1915-2003), Czech master (since 1951) and noted trainer. One of the best Czech players after wws. He participated many times in the finals of Czechoslovak championships. He took part in the chess olympiad Helsinki 1952 and in European team chamionship 1957. Author of many books and articles.
