The book contains 49 games (out of a total of 66) with short annotations from the so-called European Championship, held from September 14 to 26, 1942, in Munich. It was one of the strongest tournaments held during World War II. The winner was Alekhine ahead of Keres, Foltys, Richter, and Bogoljubov.

Condition - Good: Private full leather black binding with gilt lettering on spine and the original paperback cover bound in. Lothar Schmid's exlibris (bookplate) on the inside front cover. The original cover is slightly worn. Paper browned with age.
