A postcard belonging to the living chess collection, issued on the occasion of the 5th All-Sokol Slet (gathering) held in June and July 1907 in Prague. The living chess game represented a battle between the Hussite forces and the army of Emperor Sigismund in January 1422. The postcard shows the leader of the Hussite army, Jan Zizka. Issued by Ceska Obec Sokolska in Prague around 1907. Size 14,1 x 9 cm.
The postcard is postally used. Sent on August 18, 1907, from Prague to Seebach bei Villach, Carinthia (present-day Austria). The text on the postcard is written in Serbian (or rather, contemporary Serbo-Croatian) reads as follows:
Драга Марице! Примите хвала за разгледницу! Поздравите тету на „ракији“! Па видиш, да се имамо лепо! - Овакога баш имам свако друго лето! - Наздар!
Dear Marica! Accept my thanks for the postcard! Greet auntie over 'rakija'! Well, you see we are having a good time! I experience exactly this every other summer! - Cheers!
