The game was part of a three-way play-off for the national championship title between Jan Foltys, Karel Opocensky, and Frantisek Zita, who had tied for first place at the Prague tournament the previous year.
The position on the board is after White's 12th move (12. Nbd2). The game was played with an interesting chess set known as the 'Czech Duras' (České Durasovky).
Condition - Good to Very Good: Slightly soiled. Embossed photographer's watermark to the lower right corner.
