Description

"Bobby Fischer's Games of Chess" by Bobby Fischer. Published in hardback by Museum Press in 1959. First UK Edition. 97pp. Betts 29-42. The book is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The top and the long edge blocks have dust discolouration but the other one is clean. There are also a couple of small stains on the long edge block (see scans). The boards are clean. The gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. Internally the book appears to be inscription and annotation free. There is mild foxing to note to the first and last couple of pages but very few in the body of the text. The pages have very light age-tanning. The (price-clipped) dustjacket is in Good Plus condition for its age. It has very small areas of loss to the head and tail of the spine (see scans) plus one small area of loss to the top left hand corner of the rear panel. There is crinkling to the top edge of the rear panel and tiny nibbles to the top of the front panel. Overall, the dustjacket shows signs of age (eg. mild discolouration and several light handling smudges) but is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Book Condition: 7.5/10. Dustjacket Condition: 6.5/10. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. A nice copy of a sought after chess book. Postage extra, from either the Republic of Ireland (via 'An Post') or from Northern Ireland (via 'Royal Mail'). Any questions, please just ask.
