"H.E. Atkins: Doyen of British Chess Champions" by R.N. Coles. Published in hardback by Isaac Pitman in 1952. First Edition. 144pp. Betts 29-14. The book is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are clean. The lettering on the spine is still strong. The long edge page block has moderate foxing (see scan) while the other two are age-tanned. Internally the book is clean and inscription/annotation free. There are a couple of pages affected by light foxing but these are very few in number. The pages are lightly age-tanned. The dustjacket is in Good condition. It has small areas of loss to the head and tail of the spine (see scans) plus a little nibbling to the top of the rear panel. The rear panel suffers from age-related rubbing. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Book Condition: 7.5/10. Dustjacket Condition: 6.5/10. Games are given in English descriptive notation.
