"Chess World, Volume 5 (1950)" edited by Cecil Purdy. Published in maroon hardback in 1950. First Edition. 296pp plus Index. Betts 7-106. The volume is in Very Good condition for its age. The boards are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The marbled red page edge blocks are clean. Internally there is a previous owner's stamp on the front endpaper but the remainder of the pages appear to be annotation, inscription and foxing free. The pages are clean with a little age-tanning evident. Some of the pages have a vertical crease from having been in the postal system, years ago. Games and positions are given in English descriptive notation. Volume Condition: 8/10. Published without a dustjacket. Further scanned images are available on request.
