"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volume 2". Edited by B.H.Wood. Bound in publisher's brown hardback. Magazine issue numbers 13 - 24, inclusive (Sept 1936 - Aug 1937). 462 large pages. Betts 7-91. Di Felice 491. Includes FACSIMILE index (which is starting to become detached from the binding but is still in place at the moment). The volume is in Very Good condition for its age. The boards are very clean. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. The page edge blocks are clean. Internally the pages are all very clean and inscription free. There is, however, a previous owner's stamp and a penned number on the front endpaper (see last scan). It is obvious that this volume has been very well cared for over the years. The volume is free of foxing. None of the internal pages have the often seen vertical postal crease. Internal magazine pages are a little tanned from age only and there is the occasional page with light creasing but this is far LESS than commensurate with age. Magazine covers are bound in. Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. A lovely vintage 'CHESS' volume for any discerning chess book collector's library. Quite heavy (around 1050g unpacked). Volume Condition: 8/10. Further scanned images are available on request. Postage extra, from either the Republic of Ireland (via 'An Post') or from Northern Ireland (via 'Royal Mail'). Any questions, please just ask.
