Description

Volodarsky printing house of Lenizdat, 1956, Leningrad USSR, in Russian language, hardcover, 524 pp, 530 grams, 1371 diagrams, condition: fair, worn covers, yellowed pages but clean without notes or underlining (except for two+four moves in the margins of pages 289,290 written in pencil).

All categories of endgames are presented. More than 500 diagrams are studies by well-known composers and chess players (e.g. Reti, Lasker, Keres, etc.). This is also due to the composer Korolkov who collaborated with the author.

Georgy Mikhailovich Lisitsjin (October 1909 – March 1972) was a Russian chess master from Leningrad. After high school he entered the Leningrad Industrial Institute, from which he graduated as a mechanical engineer. He was an author of several chess books, only a few sections of which have been translated from Russian into English. He wrote primarily about strategy, tactics, and endgame theory.
