Description

Verlag Dr. E. Wildhagen, Hamburg, tome 11, 1958.  First edition. Hardback, 569 games with a chessboard diagram every 5 moves, plus two chess studies unpaginated with plate, a Lasker's photo.  Bound in original publisher's red cloth with gilt lettering to spine and cover. Plus, a separate 28-page issue with notes and analyses on the games. Condition: good. Few stains on the two front covers (shown in the first photo). 675 grams.

The famous red series from Wildhagen Publishing. Verlag. Dr. E. Wildhagen was a German publishing house based in Hamburg and Berlin, which published some of the most important and collectible works in chess literature during the 1950s and 1960s. The original printed editions are rare and sought after by collectors.
