Description

Uitgeverij Van Spijk, Venlo/Antwerpen, 1996, in Dutch language, softcover, 306 pp, 430 grams, 151 annotated games, many diagrams, some history, tournament tables, some photos. Condition: very good+. Βeautiful book both in content and layout.

Miguel Najdorf is one of the most fascinating personalities in the entire history of chess. He may not have lived up to his proud words "I will become world champion", but as a chess propagandist he has hardly any equal. His style appeals to the general chess public in particular. Najdorf (15 April 1910 – 4 July 1997) was a Polish-Argentine chess grandmaster. Originally from Poland, he was in Argentina when World War II began in 1939, and he stayed and settled there. He was a leading world player in the 1940s and 1950s, and is also known for the Najdorf Variation, one of the most popular chess openings.
