Heinrich Friedrich Ludwig Meyer (1839–1928) was a German chess scholar and composer. He worked as a chess editor for well-known periodicals of the time, such as The Boy's Own Paper, The Gentleman's Journal, and Hannoversche Anzeigen. He is known for his ability to create complex problems (such as checkmate in 5 or 8 moves) using the minimum possible number of pieces (economy of forces).
