This historial work started in 1999, when dr Vlastimil Fiala published material with help of world's leading chess historians as Anthony Gillam, John S. Hilbert, John Donaldson, Tomasz Lissowski, Timothy Harding, Ivan Bottlik and Juan Sebastian Morgado.

No. 17 includes many interesting articles as Early Chess Career of Yates, Lipschutz and the New York-State Chess Association, 1889, chess biography of M. Chigorin, Maczuski, and L. Fagan, the complete 10th District of Columbia Championship, 1939, matches Dubois vs. Wyvill, Euwe vs. Keres, the Continental Correspondence Tournament 1894-1898, and usual departments: Great Chess Players with many unknown games of Staunton, Lasker. Alekhine and Capablanca, Chess Notes, Chess Problems, Chess Research and Chess Reviews.
