With notations of the time by Isidor Gunsberg, Hermann Lehner, Johannes Minckwitz, Charles Edvard Ranken, Samuel Rosenthal, Wilhelm Steinitz and Johannes Hermann Zukertort as well as detailed notations to 40 games by IM Cor van Wijgerden. In German. Algebraic notation. About 450 diagrams.

Until now (1984) a tournament book from this important tournament was missing. Christiaan M. Bijl has carefully compilated the old reports from sources as Österreichische Lesehalle and Wiener Allgemeinen Zeitung, and all 270 games from this double rounds tournament. From 230 games the author has translated the original annotations by Rosenthal (from La Stratégie), Gunsberg (from The Chess Players Chronicle) and Zukertort (from The Chess Monthly). Also Minckwitz' annotations (from Deutsche Schachzeitung). 40 games annotated by IM Cor van Wijgerden.
