The book follows the history of the boy from Mjøndalen who early showed his talent and faced the best players in the world in duels on the board, i.e. Tal, Smyslov, Keres, Petrosian, Spassky, Fischer, Larsen and many others. Johannessen was also the gentleman of chess who was of great importance as a pioneer and inspirer for new generations of chess masters.
