Ceskoslovensky sach 1938. Oficialni organ Ustredni jednoty ceskoslovenskych sachistu. Praha. Monthly. In Czech. Editors: K. Zmatlik, J. Louma, L. Prokes, M. Soukup, V. Mrazik. In 1927, the magazine changed its name, and the volume numbering restarted at 1. However, it was a continuation of Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu, so it is in fact the 32nd annual volume. The volume numbering was finally standardized only in 1946.
The 1938 volume is, together with the 1916 volume, the rarest volume of the magazine. Published during the turbulent pre-war period, marked by the Sudeten crisis and the subsequent loss of the Sudeten territories by Czechoslovakia, this volume was apparently issued in a smaller print run, reportedly also due to a shortage of paper. Some issues are said not to have reached even all subscribers. The rarity of this volume is also evidenced by the fact that it is the only volume of the magazine missing from the collection of the National Library of the Czech Republic.
Ceskoslovensky sach is the main Czech chess magazine published continuously since 1906. The title changed over time mainly for political reasons: Casopis ceskych sachistu (1906–1919), Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu (1920–1926), Ceskoslovensky sach (1927–1938 and 1946–present), and Sach (1939–1945).
