The Chess Player, Nottingham, 1969, booklet, 16x18 cm, Limited Edition, copy number 475 of 690 copies (see photo 2), 36 pp, 55 grams, condition: fair.

In 1969, San Juan, Puerto Rico hosted one of the most prestigious and unforgettable tournaments in chess history. It was held in Colegio de Abogados (Bar Association). The tournament gave Puerto Rican players the rare chance to play leading players, including the new world champion Boris Spassky. Spassky won the tournament by 1.5 points, winning eight games and drawing the other seven.

San Juan, Puerto Rico 8.X.1969-29.X.1969. 120 games from the tournament. 1st Spassky, 2nd Parma, 3rd Bisguier, 4.W.Browne, 5.L.Schmid, 6.Donner, 7.Larsen ... (16 players). Browne's performance merited comment. His second through fourth tie was a great achievement for the 20-year-old, especially as he only had twenty-four hours notice of his participation.
