Fred Wilson has selected the finest classical matches from the annual London publication, The Year-Book of Chess, where they were originally reported in full. He includes thirteen complete matches and the best games from another six matches, making a total of 157 games. You will find here four complete title defenses by Dr. Lasker: Lasker vs. Marshall, Lasker vs. Jan-owsky, Lasker vs. Tarrasch, and the famous Lasker vs. Schlechter, where Lasker was fortunate to retain his title on a tied score. An-other prize is the complete Capablanca vs. Marshall. Also included are two non-title matches between Lasker and Janowsky, Mieses vs. Schlechter blindfold match, matches between Mieses and Marshall, Rubinstein, Spielmann, and Teichmann, and Marshall vs. Leon-hardt. For the remaining six matches, the best games are given: Janowsky vs. Marshall, Schlechter vs. Tarrasch, Marshall vs. Jan-owsky, Spielmann vs. Tartakower, Marshall vs. Duras, and Spielmann vs. Teichmann.
