"Büsum 1968" by Robert Hübner, published by Edition Marco in 2018, is a book that recounts Hübner's personal memories of the International Chess Tournament in Büsum 1968. At the age of 19, Hübner participated as an untitled player and won the tournament. The book includes 54 pages of detailed accounts of the tournament, featuring short portraits of the participants and chess analyses.
A special chapter is dedicated to the then 71-year-old Grandmaster Fritz Sämisch, who participated in the tournament despite being past his prime. Hübner's reflections provide a unique insight into the event, which was notable for the participation of young talents alongside experienced grandmasters.
