Organ des Schweizerischen Schachverbandes. Complete year of the Zchweizerische Schachzeitung 1965. The Swiss Chess Newspaper (SSZ) is the official organ of the Swiss Chess Federation. The first issue appeared in October 1900, making the SSZ one of the oldest chess magazines still in publication. The SSZ was published eleven times until 2009, and eight times a year since then, with a circulation of 8,000 copies and around 40-50 printed pages. It contains sections on correspondence chess and chess composition, among others. Since the SSZ is a Swiss magazine, it contains articles in German, French and Italian. The editor-in-chief is Markus Angst, one of the chess referees in the 2004 World Championship match between Vladimir Kramnik and Péter Lékó.
This item originates from the chess book collection of Zahari Stanchev, (April 27, 1920 - January 27, 1980) from Sofia, Bulgaria. Stanchev was Bulgaria's representative to FIDE in the 1960s, a writer of chess books, and an international arbiter.
