Biographical data:
Luigi Ceriani (1894-1969) Italian problemist, expert on retrograde analysis, author of 600+ problems. His books „32 personaggi e un autore“ (1955) and „La genesi delle posizioni“ (1961) belong to the fundamental works in the field of retrograde analysis.
Bedrich Formanek (1933-2023), noted Slovak chess problem composer, author of many hundreds of problems. He wrote more than 10 books and edited more than 7,000 chess columns in various newspapers. President of the Permanent Commission of the FIDE for Chess Compositions (PCCC) in 1994-2002.
