Size 30 x 21 cm
Good to very good: light traces after horizontal and vertical center fold, light signs of use.
The letter begins "Vazeny priteli“ (= Dear Friend) and the addressee is probably the Slovak problem composer Bedrich Formanek
Artur Mandler writes about a chess conference, about receiving the FIDE Album 1959-1961 from the addressee, about meeting (Jaroslav) Sajtar. He also praises the addressee for his work as chairman of the (chess federation) problem committee
Biographical data:
Artur Mandler (1891-1971), noted Czech study composer, author of more than 350 studies. Author of several books, including „Richard Reti: Saemtliche Studien“, Praha 1931.
Bedrich Formanek (1933-2023), Slovak chess problem composer, author of many hundreds of problems. He wrote more than 10 books and edited more than 7,000 chess columns in various newspapers. President of the Permanent Commission of the FIDE for Chess Compositions (PCCC) in 1994-2002.
