Nuova Rivista degli Scacchi 1875+1876 (Anno I + II).
Livorno, 1875-1876. Contemporary half-leather with four raised bands, spine lettered. XVI + 436 pages. Size ca 23.5 cm. The weight 800 grams. LN 6182. Di Felice 1710. In Italian.
1875: 100 pages (complete volume 1, numbers 1-4, title/index not published)
1876: XVI + pp.101-436 (complete volume 2, numbers 1-12 including halftitle, title and index, which are common for volumes 1 and 2).
Fair: binding is tight, edges and spine ends are rubbed, corners bumped, boards scratched. Halftitle and title are detached from the book-block (picture; this can be repaired). Front free endpaper is missing. Pages are normally browned by age but clean. There are occasional small marks in red crayon (probably in Ilja Mikan’s hand) in the problem section. Last 4 leaves and rear free endpaper are starting to loosen from the book-block but still holding well.
Both volumes are complete. No plates were published in these years. The covers are not bound in.
(The magazine was published monthly from 1875 to March 1903).
