Nuova Rivista degli Scacchi 1880+1881 (Anno VI + VII).
Livorno, 1880-1881. Contemporary half-leather, spine lettered. Size ca 22.5 cm. The weight 960 grams. LN 6182. Di Felice 1710. In Italian.
1880: (4) = halftitle, title + 328 pages (Anno VI, numbers 1-10, index)
1881: (4) = halftitle, title + 324 pages (Anno VII, numbers 1-10, index)
Fair: binding is worn, edges and spine ends are rubbed. Halftitle, title and index of 1881 are missing – they are enclosed in photocopies on free leaves. Inner joints are cracked but binding is tight. Stamp of previous owner on the front paste-down = chess composer and collector Ilja Mikan. Pages are clean, with occasional neat notes in the problem section in Mikan's hand.
With the exception of title/index of volume 1881, which are in a photocopy, both volumes are complete. No plates were published this year. The covers are not bound in.
(The magazine was published monthly from 1875 to March 1903).
