The book "Finale in Meran: Hübner-Kortschnoi" by Ludek Pachman, published by Rau Verlag in 1981, provides a detailed account of the Candidates Final match held in Meran (Merano), Italy, in 1980. This match was part of the World Chess Championship cycle, where the winner would earn the right to challenge the reigning World Champion, Anatoly Karpov.
The book contains 125 pages and offers in-depth analysis and insights into the games played between German Grandmaster Robert Hübner and Swiss Grandmaster Viktor Kortschnoi. Kortschnoi emerged victorious in this intense and closely contested match, earning the opportunity to face Karpov in the World Championship match later that year.
