Queen against two Rooks in middlegame and endgame  -  A contribution to chess theory and practice with 38 games, a study and 129 diagrams.

"Dealing with this topic teaches us a lot about the properties of queens and rooks, about passed pawns, king attacks, the mobility of the pieces and other things that are also of general importance. There are hardly more than a few superficial remarks and examples in the literature on the material ratio of queen against two rooks. So we are presenting here a first thorough investigation of this topic. The idea to write this book arose from the weekly chess training of the Bundesliga club SC Kreuzberg Berlin, which has been led by Jürgen Federau for several years. We are grateful to use the results we found together. The starting material was mostly already annotated games, which we subjected to thorough analysis. We have significantly expanded the variations and commentaries we found; it was not uncommon for us to have to correct incorrect analyses - even those by well-known authors. Since all the sources we used are listed in the bibliography, everyone can form their own opinion.
Our aim was to systematically record the game of queen against two rooks in its legality and at the same time to give the player practical criteria for assessing the position in the form of theorems. When commenting on the games, we took care to make the strategic plans, ideas and the central theme clear. We deliberately presented the individual games independently of one another. The reader will therefore find in this book a collection of important and instructive games with careful and detailed commentary."
